- Something in your life played a major influence such as: A Mentor, a book you read, a vision you had, a mythical animal you relate to, a role you always seem to play (add the IDENTITY TYPES here,)
- Perhaps it came to you in an epiphany, came to you in a medicine journey, was given to you by a mentor, kids in school pointed it out, you got the idea from a story you read, you saw a ad go by on a bus, etc.
- A special hat, your magic boots, a sacred piece of jewelry, a totem animal, a special hand mudra, a saying such as ‘I’m The Source’, a nose-wiggle, etc.
- Real weaknesses your specific IDENTITY my have: wilts around negativity, shies away from conflict, can be a bit paranoid, has trouble asking for what they need, can get overly intense when directing others,
YOUR SUPER-POWERS
- Want to connect with others, want to share your story with others, want to enjoy a sense of community, wish to further explore your path as a conscious being, a desire to bring more play and creativity into your life,

YOUR COMMUNITY
- A most excellent example of a clear and concise Community mission statement:
‘ELYSEUM is a diverse literary community established to facilitate, inspire, encourage and exemplify excellence in literature, writing and spoken word.
Our events, workshops and retreats are dynamic settings where participants can feel safe and free to effectively express themselves as well as to sharpen their skills in writing, presentation and observation.
Through the sublime values of humor, beauty, authenticity and sustainability, members of ELYSEUM take their proper place in the vibrant, living tradition of literary excellence.
ELYSEUM is a paradise for heroes and writers.’
- (Self-explanatory) Even if you just volunteer in a community, you are a vital part!
- (use the Burningman examples here)
4. (Self-explanatory)
Extra Credit Questions (change to: QUESTIONS TO PONDER)
- As a community: We’re really good at creating safe space, we have great techniques for dealing with conflict, we’re great at self-organizing, etc.
- As a community: We have trouble getting volunteers, we find it difficult to keep members accountable to group agreements, we’re trying to figure out more ways to help members feel like their a part of the community, how do you deal with ‘super-egoic’ or outspoken ‘bully’ types
- As a community leader/builder/facilitator: I find giving/receiving feedback difficult, I have trouble balancing my time, I get lost in the details sometimes, etc.
- Be specific HOW you hold space for conflict here; what techniques, tools or methods do you use? I.E We create a safe space using humor/compassion and always have appointed facilitators who truly ENJOY the process and are good at it, help facilitate, etc.
